After about 1 mile on this road, turn right onto signed Cooper Basin Road. Take Cooper Basin Road for 4.7 miles (the first 3 miles are on pavement, the final 1.7 miles is on good graded dirt road) to the signed trailhead parking for Aspen Creek on your right. The trailhead is across the road from the parking lot and has a small trail sign marking it (TR #48). ]]></c:value>

To the Trailhead: From the Phoenix area, take I-17 to the junction of HWY-69. Turn left onto HWY-69 towards Prescott. At the intersection between HWY-89 and HWY-69 towards the town of Prescott, turn left (HWY-69) and head towards the town of Prescott on Gurley Street. Not long after this turn-off, you will turn left (South) on Mount Vernon Street. From this point, it is 6.7 miles on a paved road (Known as the Senator Highway and FR-52)to the end of the pavement. From the end of the pavement, go another 0.3 miles and turned right at FR79, which is signed as Whispering Pines Camp. After 1.8 miles you will pass the turn for FR79B (stay left) and cross the Hassayampa River (really more of a creek). After 0.4 miles, turn right at a clear fork (but unsigned). In 0.2 miles, turn right at the sign for the Kendall Camp Trail 65. This last sign has seen some abuse from firearm enthusiasts so it may not be readable when you take this hike. Go another 0.7 miles on this increasingly rocky road (high clearance recommended) until you see a wood fence on your right. The parking area is just ahead where the road forks. You could continue on (right) to the actual trailhead (about 0.2 miles away), but unless you're on a ATV I wouldn't bother. ]]></c:value>

To get to the trail head: from the Phoenix area, take I-17 North toward Flagstaff. At Cordes Junction, take HWY-69 towards Prescott. Just after leaving Prescott Valley, you'll turn left onto Walker Road (near the Costco). Take this road 10.5 miles where it meets the junction with Poacher's Row road. Walker road starts out paved and stays that way for the majority of the time. However, it does change to well graded dirt. There were passenger cars on this road, but I felt more comfortable with a medium clearance vehicle. You'll go through a residential area, so please keep a low profile so we can continue to have access to this trailhead. At the signed intersection with Poacher's Row road, turn left and drive 0.4 miles to the end of the road and the start of TR#285. There isn't much parking here, so you may need to backtrack to Walker road to park. Please don't block any of the roads when you park.]]></c:value>

To the Trailhead: From the Phoenix area, take I-17 to the junction of HWY-69. Continue north on I-17 to the Dugas exit. Turn right (east) towards Dugas. For the first few miles, the road is paved, but soon turns to graded dirt. You will need a high clearance vehicle for this road, primarily because you need to cross Sycamore creek. Follow the signs to either Dugas, or once you pass Dugas, follow the signs to Pine mountain. The major road forks are signed, so it is not too difficult to navigate here. You should stay on Dugas road for the duration (FR 68) for 19 miles, finally arriving at the Salt Flat camping area and trailhead. Park here where available. ]]></c:value>

To get to the trail head: from the Phoenix area, take I-17 North toward Flagstaff. At Cordes Junction, take HWY-69 towards Prescott. Just after leaving Prescott Valley, you'll turn left onto Walker Road (near the Costco). Take this paved road 1.2 miles to the signed dirt road to Lynx Creek Ruin. Turn left on this well graded dirt road (Lynx Creek Road, FR 9401) and take it 1.0 miles to its end at a large parking area. For the most part, this dirt road is in good shape, but when we took this hike, there were a few sections that washed out in recent rains and had large (and hopefully temporary) trenches. No problem for even a mediocre clearance vehicle, but probably too deep for some passenger cars.

When you reach downtown Prescott, you'll arrive at the intersection with Montezuma Street (HWY-89 South). Turn South (left) onto Montezuma Street.

At the town square, turn left onto Montezuma Street (also HWY-89). Follow this street for 1 mile to the intersection with Copper Basin Road. Turn right onto Copper Basin Road and go 6 miles. After 3 miles on this road, it turns to well graded dirt. After 6 miles, turn right onto signed FR373. This intersection is a bit confusing, so make sure you check for the small brown sign marking FR373. Go 1.3 miles on this road (driving by the unsigned Sierra Prieta overlook and some great views) to the signed trailhead for #264. Park at one of the few pullouts near the trailhead. ]]></c:value>

To get to the trailhead: from the Phoenix area, take I-17 North to Cordes Junction. Take HWY-69 towards Prescott here. Turn right on Fain Road and then take another right when you reach the turn off for HWY89A towards Jerome. About 10 miles before you get to Jerome, you will reach the highest elevation and on your right will be a sign for the Mingus mountain recreation area. Turn left on the unsigned road and drive towards the Potato Patch campground. You will follow the signs to the Woodchute Trail #102. After about 0.3 miles, turn left and the road will soon turn to a well graded dirt road. You will see a parking area and a green gate beyond. Continue an additional 0.7 miles on this relatively good dirt road to the well signed trailhead for Trail #102. It looks like that during some times of the year, this road may be closed.]]></c:value>

To get to the trailhead: from the Phoenix area, take I-17 North toward Flagstaff. At Cordes Junction, take HWY-69 towards Prescott. On the way to Prescott, turn right onto signed Fain road. When you reach the junction for HWY-89A, turn right towards Jerome. Take 89A to mile marker 333. Just after mile marker 333, there is a guardrail with an elevation marker for 6000 ft. Just after the guardrail, there is a pull out and a difficult to see road that hairpins down on the right side. Vehicle access for this road is blocked now but there is parking at this pull out on the right. ]]></c:value>
