To get to the trailhead: from the Phoenix area, take US-60 East towards Globe. Just after Miami and before globe, take HWY-88 (or 188 depending on the sign) left towards Roosevelt. Make a right onto well signed HWY 288. About two miles after crossing the Salt River, turn right onto Cherry Creek Road (signed as FR203), a well graded dirt road. You will continue to follow this road for 22.5 miles. Some waypoints follow (remembering to stay on FR203 the whole time):

After 8.8 miles, a sign for Coon Creek FR203 takes you across the creek and onto private property. Please respect this property so we can continue to have access to this area.

After 11.7 miles, you'll cross the creek again.

After 19.5 miles, you pass the Ellison Ranch and cross the creek again. After this point, the road becomes 4WD mandatory.

After 21 miles, you will see a sign that explains the "Sierra Ancha Cliff Dwellings" in this area.

After 22.5 miles, park near the Forest Service sign near some camping on the left.]]></c:value>

To get to the trailhead: from the Phoenix area, take I-17 North to the HWY-101 loop. Take the HWY-101 loop West to the 67th avenue exit. Go right (North) on 67th Avenue. Although you don't turn off this road for some time, it will change it's name twice, first to Pyramid Peak Parkway, then after about 6 miles of driving, Sonoran Mountain Ranch Road. After the last name change, drive another 0.4 miles to the signed junction with North Chalfen Blvd. Turn left here and make the quick right at the sign for the Sonoran Mountain Ranch park. This is where you will park to take the short walk to the trailhead. There are restrooms and water at this park. ]]></c:value>

From the Phoenix area, take US-60 East to the Ellsworth Road Exit. Go North on Ellsworth Road. After passing McKellips Road, Ellsworth Road turns into Usery Pass Road. To get to the trailhead: from the Phoenix area, take the Carefree highway (SR-74) West to Castle Hot Springs Road (Lake Pleasant exit). Turn right and drive 10.9 miles to the trailhead. This road eventually becomes a well graded dirt road. The last mile is in a wash, which is OK if there is no recent rain. Passenger cars are probably OK on this road. At 10.9 miles, you will pass over a cattle guard. The small pullout for parking is immediately on your left. Castle Hot Springs road is a popular place for ATVs and dirt bikes, so keep vigilant while driving here. ]]></c:value>

To get to the trailhead: From the Phoenix area, take Central Avenue south into South Mountain park. Once you enter the park and after passing the stone buildings that mark the visitor center, drive the Summit Road for 4.7 miles. Turn right at the intersection and continue towards the Buena Vista parking area and drive another 0.7 miles. Make a left turn at this intersection and drive the remaining 0.4 miles to the trailhead parking. Drive slowly on these roads and watch out for bikers, hikers, and runners on the road.
