From Tokyo, there are two main ways to get to Kawaguchiko. You can either take a bus from Shinjuku or take the Chuo Line from Shinjuku, then take a local train from Otsuki to Kawaguchiko station. This is a good place for your hotel, as there are many in the area and the Kagaguchiko lake is very pretty. To get to the trailhead, take one of the shuttle busses from the Kawaguchiko station to the Kawaguchiko 5th station. ]]></c:value>

From Tokyo, the trailhead is easily accessed by train. From Shinjuku, you have two choices. You can take the Chuo line to the Takao stop, changing trains to the Keio line for the final stop to Takaosanguchi. I recommend taking the Keio line from Shinjuku that goes all the way to Takaosanguchi. The Takao line ticket is cheaper and sometimes you can get a limited express that saves time. It takes about 45 minutes if you get the limited express. From the train station, follow the people towards the cable car and chair lift area that marks the base of all the trails. The start of both trails detailed here are along the left side of the easily recognized cable car station. ]]></c:value>
