If a swim in the warm turquoise colored waters appeals to you, the Little Colorado is your hike.
The Little Colorado river has a dual personality. If there have been rains recently, it is an angry brown river, dumping silt and rock into the main Colorado. If it has been dry, it is a turquoise dream, with clear and warmer water flowing over travertine ledges. If the Little Colorado is in it's happy mood, this is well worth a stop.
There is a trail on the left side of the river (looking upstream) to follow. Beamers Cabin shows up about 0.5 miles into the hike on the right side of the river. Beamer was a prospector that tried (unsuccessfully) to mine in this area. It is just over a mile to some nice mini travertine falls that make a good turn around point.
