Hike to the petroglyphs in mile 202 canyon in Grand Canyon national park, Arizona.

If you’re looking for a short hike to break up the day, the petroglyphs up 202 mile canyon are easily accessed and worth the stop. From the beach, navigate your way to the dry streambed. From here start heading up the canyon. There are some large boulders to navigate around, but the scrambling is pretty straight forward. Hike up canyon about 0.25 miles and keep an eye out on your right for a cairned trail that heads up to the canyon wall. The petroglyphs are on your right on limestone. Some of the wall has fallen apart over the years, leaving some of the petroglyphs at waist level and lower. The red dye used is still holding up strong and gives us a glimpse into life here 1000 years ago.
